HIBACHI!!!!!! All you can eat SUSHI from 1to 3pm. I love this place. My only complaint is the unnecessarily large portions. It's wasteful. There is no way one person needs to consume so much rice. It's thoughtful, but it's excessive. And delicious. So maybe that star needs to actually be taken away from the gluttony of our society. It's not Sakura's fault North Florida has a more is more mentality. Opulence and excess is the mantra here. BMI be damned! But I digress. This place is bomb and you need to go there for the dining experience with flames, and knives, and smoke, and YUMMMMM!!!!

Great showmanship on the grill, but the food was not good.

I was hesitant to visit based on a lot of the reviews here. Nonetheless, after praises from family on their experience, I gave it a try. We sat at the hibachi (which I am usually not a fan of, since you get stuck with people you don't know), and was pleasantly surprised, and lucky, that the group seated with us was very pleasant. ANYWAY, back to the review... our hibachi chef's name is Erik. He was absolutely WONDERFUL. Erik knows his way around the grill, was very skilled in his duties and as charming as it gets. He treated everyone with the utmost respect and care. Laughs around the entire table as he cracked jokes, but not too much and not too little. Erik is very entertaining, funny and personable. We left with our bellies full and quite amused. I'd definitely give Sakura another visit, and I'm pretty sure I'd ask for Erik, if that is doable!

Been here twice. Ate in the dining room for lunch the first time. Ginger dressing on salad was nice and thick and delicious! Ordered steak and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Returned a second time, again for lunch, but this time did hibachi. Performance wasn't all that great, the rice had too much egg in it, the ginger salad dressing was watery and the steak wasn't seasoned very well. Was very disappointed in second visit there especially considering how expensive it is.

Prior to going to the restaurant tonight for dinner on my first fourth of July being single. My friends family spoke very highly of the Hibachi style dinner that they enjoyed on numerous occasions. My expectations were pretty high only to be deflated by the sub par dishes I experienced. I ordered a various assortments of sushi. With my first bite, I bit into hard/firm rice that was undercooked and under seasoned. When I brought it to the sushi chef attention, he stated he doesn't like sushi and he doesn't eat sushi, only Spanish food. Since I didn't get the proper response from the sushi Chef, I decided to speak to the waiter to inform him of my hard/firm sushi rice in which he just said "I'm sorry". Since the fish it's self tasted pretty good I decided to just try another dish and that was the basil rolls wrapped in rice paper and in that turned out to be a major disappointment. The rice paper rolls were not wrapped properly leaving holes in several spots. I called the waiter over and sent it that back he apologized and took it off my bill. Next I ordered the shrimp tempura, which I have to say, was the best out of all three. I didn't go there for the shrimp tempura, I went there for sushi since it is a sushi steakhouse. When I got my bill I received no discount for the undercooked rice that was part of my sushi and that may very disappointed. Not one time did a manager come out to speak to me about the food

This review is for the food and value. Best place for celebrating a birthday especially hibachi style, they have discounts for the celebrants in the coupon fliers, or just ask & they usually just ask to show an ID, to verify your birthday. Hibachi is always entertaining, especially for kids. I always order the Salmon teriyaki & shrimp and it's delectable. People I usually go with order the filet mignon. We always crave their fried rice. They are so nice and give you extra sauce, if you ask. Also tried the sushi many times and it's always fresh. They have good lunch specials. A nice place to meet up with friends. They've been around for a while because they are always adding stuff to the menu. Good value, good food makes us come back! Always satisfied when we come here, no complaints.

Went to this location for our annual Japanese Christmas Eve dinner. The food was great, entertainment was ehh..sub par, & restaurant was clean. The food tasted just as good as any major hibachi chain (ex. Kobe) the only difference is noodles were not included and were $4 additional charge per serving. The entertainment really didn't do much. He basically cooked our food & did the volcano with the onions. No jokes, no flare but hey at least the food was good! The restaurant was clean but bathrooms needed some updating. All in all I would recommend this location if you are wanting a Japanese hibachi meal!

We visited the restaurant on a Tuesday night 8:00 pm. I took my wife and my granddaughter. We were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait or they can cook it in the kitchen, we stated we came for the show , because they had a table of 15 and needed 2 chefs to take care of that table. They told us they would give a free sushi appetizer for waiting. There was no other tables with customers at that time, except for the big party of 15. About 15 minutes later the waiter came out and said that they were going to have the chef come over and take care of us.The soup and salad came out with the chef He came out and did his "show" that was the first joke really fast. No show at all. That is the reason we brought my granddaughter. He rushed through the show so that he could go to the bigger party. There was no sushi roll, no shrimp appetizer and very small portions [5 small shrimp and 3 scallops for $22.00 ]. Only his onion volcano, that was it, wham bam, and moved onto other party. When we were finished eating we asked to see the manager. Our server went to kitchen, and came out and laughed and said they did not want to come out. We said we would not pay the bill until the owner came out to talk to us. At that time our chef and the owner came out, not sure if he was the owner or not. He said they did give the appetizer and they had to rush because of big party. The so called owner was very very rude, and asked if we wanted our food for free and he wouldn't do that, we said we don't want anything for free .He stated he would give us $6.00 off a $65.00 + bill and laughed and walk away. The hostess and our waiter said they were very sorry for the owners action.I asked them why do you work here for a rude man like that , and they looked at each other and said they need the money. I will never go there again !!!!!!

I wouldn't even have gave them a star..used to work here..I don't recommend eating at all this establishment, they are privately owned and kept filthy, the owner's view is that only what the customer can see is what needs to be cleaned. The drink machine is cleaned by throwing hot water on it, they don't remove the nozzles and clean them only once a month. I got food poisoning from eating their salad (at work and I only worked there less than a month because I couldn't stand how dirty the environment was). They don't throw away the salad until it's black and will serve it even if it's not good because of food cost and they drenched it with salad dressing so you can't tell its old. The kitchen is disgusting, covered in grime. The towels they use to clean are old and filthy. The sinks don't have soap at them, they just rinse utensils off with hot water. I just would not eat here.. Takeya in ormond is worth the drive, they're hibachi and sushi is incredible, not to mention fresh (which Sakura lacks).

Did a take out order, the overall quality of the food was poor. My wife and I ate the Sushi & Sashimi combo.

This review is for the sushi bar: Oh boy. The sushi bar was much better 2 years ago when we used to frequent this establishment. It has taken an unfortunate turn downhill. We went for the all you can eat lunch special (2 years ago it was great). Well the menu has changed alot. Most of the rolls we ordered were absolutely disgusting, especially the ones with smoked salmon on them - they tasted like cat food. We proceeded to order 2 rolls to replace the cat food rolls and we were told we had to eat them if we wanted anymore...! So "all you can eat" really meant All you MUST eat! Can you imagine a waiter trying to force you to eat something? Well, he finally gave in and brought us two more rolls, which were poorly made and not very appetizing. All in all it was an extremely disappointing sushi experience. If you want sushi there are several other better restaurants in the area. The hibachi was good 2 years ago and I imagine it still is. But, given the bad service we received we will not return.

The service was okay nothing special but when it came to paying the bill being it was my birthday dinner they weren't going to give me the birthday special because it was 3 hours before my birthday they ended up giving me the special but they somehow made an error they said and my account was billed 3 times then when I went and spoke with her she said oh no no worries there would only be one charge for low and behold three charges of $225 came out of my account now I'm fighting with the bank... All I know is that the dinner with not worth what we paid for one no less 3.. If you choose to go there make sure you check your account after, can you imagine how many people don't look at their account and don't even realize they getting triple charged..NOT HAPPY AND NEVER GOING BACK!!!!!!

This here is one great Japanese Steakhouse. I was in Palm Coast visiting some family and stopping here for dinner was great move. The hibachi grill is great if you're in a big group. The chef was funny and involved the table in the show. The staff was very courteous and food was delicious. Whichever meal you choose the portion is more than plentiful. I had the mignon and the chicken and both were done exquisitely. I will be visiting this place again next time I am in town.

House seafood soup for 2 is a great order if you like a spicy seafood based broth with lemongrass and garlic. Seafood was fresh and not rubbery which is great; because, it did contain squid. Most overcook squid and it's chewy, not here! Sushi is fresh and delicious, service top notch, and have never once had a bad meal even at the Teppanyaki tables. I've been here multiple times and ordered takeout, they have never messed up my order which is amazing especially when u order over the phone. I applaud them for having a pleasant speaking american girl answer phones. She's very nice and definitely helps the business with language barriers. For example, I orderded a salmon roll with lemon and they got it right. They actually put little slivers of lemon in the roll. This gives it that extra freshness and acidity that compliments salmon so well! Great group of employees here, they give you that family feel!

BUGS IN THE FOOD AND MANAGEMENT ARGUED THAT THEY WEREN'T BUGS BUT WERE SEASONING!!! Last night, my wife and I were craving food from Sakura as we had been here before and were always very pleased. Our dinner started deliciously with ordering the shrimp tempura as an appetizer. She ordered chicken and shrimp Thai fried rice, and I ordered chicken Pad Thai. Both of these meals come with a choice of soup; we both chose Miso soup. Fifteen minutes had passed and my wife's chicken and shrimp Thai fried rice was brought to the table, by itself. The server who delivered the plate, not our server, quickly disappeared back into the kitchen (I could only assume to get my plate since she noticed she only delivered one of the two). I noticed a gnat had landed on the rim of my wife's plate, thus I grabbed it with my napkin and consoled her saying that it probably landed on the plate as the plate was being delivered. My plate arrived about five minutes after my wife's, no biggie. When my plate arrived, my wife noticed that our soup hadn't made it to the table, and she commented to our server that it hadn't come. The waitress was shocked, and said she would bring it right away. We were in no hurry and were easy going about the missing soup. As I was looking at my plate to take about the seventh or eighth bite of my chicken Pad Thai, a "gnat" similar to the first crawled out from under the orange slice garnish on the plate. I quickly dropped my fork and got the server's attention. I told her of the gnat/fruit flies that were in the food, and she replied that she was new to the restaurant. She swiftly got the "manager" to come to our table. The manager asked what the problem was, and I told her about the insects in our food and showed her the one on my plate. She said "That's not bugs; it's seasoning" as she pinched it between her fingers. I told her that I saw it crawling on my plate, and she asked me "So what do you want? I can give you 20 PERCENT OFF" The attitude of this manager was beyond rude. After I showed her the bug, she acted as though I was just another customer trying to get something for nothing, and that is no way to treat your guests. I'll not being going back. I advise patrons of this restaurant to be wary.

Not cheap, but reasonable. Nice ambiance, good service, and the best fillet mignon in town!

The food was okay. If you've done Japanese steakhouses before then this place does nothing to raise the bar. Service was good and people were friendly. Ordered: basil roll, chicken rangoon, Hibachi steak, shrimp, chicken.

My husband and I were taking my mother and Grandmother out for an early Mother's day dinner and the place we wanted to go was closed. So, based on Edward J's review, we decided to try Sakura. We went for an early dinner and did not sit at the hibachi grill but all 5 of us, including my dad, ordered off the hibachi menu. I had planned to order sushi but the hibachi sounded good. My husband and I had the steak and shrimp, my grandmother had the shrimp, my mother had the lobster, and my father had the steak. My 90 year old grandmother is on a sodium restricted diet and when we requested to extra seasoning, salt, or MSG, the waitress said there was none added. We were VERY pleased with our meals. The Miso was tasty, the salad and ginger dressing was yummy, the veggies were fresh, and the meat and seafood were great. The waitress was young, possibly new to waiting tables, and hovered a bit much but she was pleasant and did her job. I was so pleased with the outcome since we had nothing to go on but Edward's review of the sushi. My parents went again on Mother's Day 6 days) later and gave another glowing review. This surely gives the place some consistency.

Went here with the family the other day based on the other reviews expecting it to live up. Not so much. I had the "filet mignon" teryaki which was ok and tried the chicken teryaki which was way too dry. My sister had the panang chicken(I know, Thai food at a Japanese restaurant?) which was blah. My Mom had sweet and sour chicken which was probably the best thing of all. Kind of sad that a Chinese dish would be the best thing at a Japanese restaurant. Ok, the drink menu. At a typical Japanese restaurant you might expect a list of Sakes, Japanese Beers, and some sodas. No, not here. Instead it's a list of American cocktails with a Japanese sounding name and several wines. Come on people! Ok, maybe I'm a little spoiled by how well they do things at Kokoro. Anyway, the one shining light of this experience was the service. Our server was extremely nice and very quick in attending to our needs. So if you're looking for Americanized Asian food that's so-so, come on by.

Ok sushi(I have had better) prices are a bit high for the amount of fish you get in each piece of nigiri and roll. If in need of a quick sushi fix it's a great place to go but if you are looking for really high quality skip it.

I I tried the sushi rolls and it was not fresh sliced fish. It was a paste rather than slices of meat. Way too pricey for the atmosphere. Better off going to the bar.

We went on a Sunday night and really enjoyed it. The server and cook were great, the food was fantastic, and we enjoyed trying bubble tea for the first time! The chicken was the best, so go cheap and get the chicken! Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely consider dining there again if we lived locally! (We live in Michigan.)

The sushi is good and well prepared, but a bit expensive. I was very disappointed with the food from the hibachi grill - it was greasy, underseasoned and bland.

Great place for sushi and sashimi, plus Gluten Free Tamari Soy Sauce. Pleasantly surprised they served Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Excellent food, drinks and service.

I had the sushi lunch special, 3 sashimi, 3 nigiri, and 1 roll for $12. The restaurant is tired and needs some maintenance. My chair had two tears in the upholstery. They kept the blinds shut tight and the place was pretty dark. That sums up the negatives in this review. My sushi was excellent. The salmon was flavorful and fresh, as was the yellowtail. The nigiri was well formed and generous. The sweet potato roll was a nice surprise. Service was excellent, almost too good. There weren't many people there and the waitress tended to hover a bit. Overall, it's a solid place to eat.

Went here or sushi. It was pretty good. We sat at the sushi bar and laughed it up with the Sushi chefs Jerry and Xing. I'm not a expert on sushi but I know what's fresh and what's not. Everything we had tasted fresh. It was Saturday night and the Teppenyaki grills were crowded, the staff was nice, place was clean.
